On Nov. 29, 2011 Americhem Inc., a global provider of custom color and additive solutions for polymer-based products, commemorate its 70 years of business. Key leaders paid tribute by sharing what the anniversary means to them.

“The 70th Anniversary means that I have worked for a company that has made good decisions and has been able to withstand tough economic times,” said Linda Manfull, plant manager at Americhem’s Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio manufacturing plant . “It means the values and principles from Americhem’s early years have stood the test of time.”

Bill Fowler, compounder and 41-year Americhem employee, said: “The 70th anniversary recognizes a company that’s been able to expand and provide jobs for people. It was one of my first jobs, and I found it to be a good company to work for throughout the years. Americhem has taken care of me,” continued Fowler, who has never missed a day of work.

Rick Mathew, another 41-year employee who is serving as a consultant to Americhem following his retirement in 2007, described Americhem as a family. “The anniversary is a tribute to the hard work and effort of everyone that I knew and loved,” he said. Reflecting on some of his favorite memories, Mathew said, “Everyone really cared about each other and the organization.”

The Americhem family has grown since its inception in 1941 as a manufacturer’s representative to the rubber industry to its present-day status as a world leader in the production of color and additive masterbatches for polymeric products.
